Description
What Are Polaroid / Polaroid-Style Photos
-
Originally, “Polaroid” refers to instant film photography made by Polaroid Corporation. The camera exposed the film, then you got a developed picture in a few minutes — with characteristic thick white borders (especially a wider bottom border), slightly soft colours, and vintage feel.
-
“Polaroid-Style” means photos that are digitally printed or edited to look like old Polaroid prints: white border, retro texture, maybe film grain, warm/nostalgic tones etc. Not instant developing, but similar aesthetic.
-
Sizes vary with Polaroid / instant film formats, and nowadays many print shops or online services replicate that look with different sizes of photo prints.
